Four decades with the violin.
Classically trained in Bulgaria, at home in Mallorca.
The Story
Mariyana began playing the violin as a child in Bulgaria, forty years ago. Since then she’s performed as a soloist, in choirs, and in bands, playing stages across Europe before settling in Mallorca, where she has now lived and performed for twenty years.
Her training is classical: Bach, Vivaldi, the standard foundation of any serious violinist’s education. But two decades of bands and ensembles pushed her repertoire well past the concert hall. She moves through jazz standards and film scores as comfortably as the classical canon. An evening might open with a Bach partita and close with Coldplay, and both get the same attention.
Every event asks for something different. A wedding ceremony wants a different arrangement than a private soirée, a corporate gala, or a recurring residency in a hotel bar, and Mariyana arranges for the room she’s in. What stays constant is live music played with real attention, whether the audience is three people or three hundred.
